The Tents

Be close to nature in our comfortable off-grid 12’ x 14’ safari-style canvas tents. Each tent has interior and exterior solar lights, a charging station for small devices, a writing/game table and chairs, covered deck and patio chairs, rug covered floors, screened-in door and windows, privacy, amazing views, and more!

~

Being an outdoor glamping (glamorous camping) destination, the tents are unheated, however; they are beautifully furnished with luxury mattresses and bedding, including ultra-warm down comforters and hot water bottles to ensure a cozy stay. Small portable heaters are available from your host for an additional fee. Two well-maintained outhouses are on-site near the tent and Pavilion areas. Camp guests must be comfortable using stairs and walking on natural ground with uneven terrain.

The Pavilion

The Pavilion is the gathering space for Camp McCarthy guests. This beautiful log/framed structure offers an incredible 360 view of the McCarthy/Kennicott valley. The Pavilion features showers, handwashing sinks, toiletry cupboards, food pantry storage area, café tables and chairs, a campfire ring, a propane burner for the hot water kettle to make coffee/tea etc., an outdoor game area with Corn Hole, and private nature trail.

Meals with ready-to-eat foods are welcome in the Pavilion (i.e., baked goods, sandwich fixings, precooked meals, cold cereal, instant oatmeal, charcuterie plates, cheese and crackers, etc.), but for bear safety, Camp is not set up to cook full, hot meals. There are fantastic restaurants in the area you won’t want to miss!

Camp McCarthy has a Pack it In, Pack it Out policy - meaning, don’t leave anything behind (including trash and left over food, etc)!
