2025 Season: May 30 - September 1
Camp McCarthy features four custom made 12’ x 14’ safari-style canvas tents each with a covered cedar deck. They are well-spaced apart for great privacy, extremely comfortable, and thoughtfully furnished for an amazing stay. You will LOVE Camp!

Each tent features premium mattresses for a luxurious sleeping experience. Ultra-warm down comforters, plush blankets, bath towels, rug-covered floors, nightstands, a sitting table and chairs for writing/games, interior and exterior solar lights, a charging station for small devices (smartphones, etc.), a covered deck, two patio rocking/swivel chairs, slip-on shoes for kicking around Camp, and incredible mountain views.

Hot showers are located in the Pavilion, Camp’s shared gathering space. Well-maintained outhouses are a short walk from the tents and Pavilion. Small portable heaters are also available from your host as an add-on item. The heater comes two one-pound propane cylinders that last up to 3-hours each.

Location is key. Camp McCarthy is just a hop-skip-and-a-jump away from the ghost towns of McCarthy and Kennicott.

Ages 10 +
Canvas tents have thin walls and so to ensure a peaceful and quiet stay for all guests, there is a minimum age limit of 10 years. Younger children (ages 6 +) are welcome with an Exclusive Stay (Camp buy-out).

Camp McCarthy has a Pack it In, Pack it Out policy.

Camp Cot - Portable Bed
Have a third person and/or need another bed? A cot with a 2” memory foam mattress and luxury bedding may be available (for use in Tents 1, 3, & 4). Please inquire. $100 per stay.
Exclusive Stay
Have a private experience at Camp with an Exclusive Stay. All four tents, up to 9 guests, $600 per night (a $120 per night discount).
This photo was taken from Camp's private nature trail. Tent 1 is sort of hiding from view behind the Pavilion, Tent 2 is in the middle, Tent 3 is the one on the right. Tent 4 was not ready in 2024 but will be the furthest from the Pavilion, to the right of Tent 3.
Camp McCarthy's canvas tents are the best! Cozy and private with incredible views.
Tent 2, Spruce Camp sleeps three. It has a luxury queen and twin-sized bed. The other tents each sleep two and feature a luxury queen-sized bed.

Each tent is cozy and private. Tent 3 and 4 are the most private, being the furthest from the Pavilion and road.
The tents are nestled in the forest on a small bluff. The Pavilion is on the level this photo was taken from.
The Pavilion is Camp McCarthy's gathering space. It features hot showers, food storage, a campfire circle, corn hole game, and more!
