The tents at Camp McCarthy are on a small bluff overlooking the Pavilion and the Kennicott River valley. There is a staircase to access Tent 1 and 2 and a sloping trail to access tents 3 and 4.

The Pavilion is Camp McCarthy's gathering space. Amenities include showers, a campfire circle, corn hole game, food storage, and a hot water kettle to make coffee/tea.

Camp McCarthy's onsite nature trail wanders through the river bar's dryas fields. It's amazing!

Camp McCarthy has two very nice, well-maintained outhouses. One on the Pavilion level and one on the tent level.

Each tent has luxury mattresses, plenty of cozy bedding, a wonderful view, and lots of privacy.

Dryas (aka Einsteins) blanket the bank of the bank of the Kennicott River.

Camp tents are so comfortable! Spruce Camp sleeps three guests and like all camp tents, is a wonderful place to stay.

The Pavilion deck is a great place to kick back and enjoy the views, have a bite to eat, play a game, read a book, or enjoy good conversation!

Tents at Camp are up a small bluff from the Pavilion level. Tent 1 and 2 are accessed via a staircase. Tent 3 and 4 there is a sloping gravel walking path.

The tents have beautiful mountain and Kennicott River valley views.

Exploring the West Side Glacier Trail is a great day hike! The trailhead is just under a mile from Camp McCarthy.

The views from the top of the Bonanza Mine Trail are jaw dropping.

Each tent has a luxury mattress, loads of cozy bedding including ultra-warm down comforters.

The Toe of the Kennicott Glacier with a blanket of dryas (aka Einsteins). "The Toe" is a nice 2 mile-ish walk from downtown McCarthy and worth it!

The back of the Pavilion features hand washing sinks, a toiletry cubbie for each tent, and two shower rooms, one on each side.

The two shower rooms have plenty of space. Towels, soap, shampoo, and conditioner are provided! I have to haul all water to Camp, so short showers and other conservation methods are very appreciated!

The Pavilion is where guests can enjoy a game of cornhole, take a shower, grab a quick bite to eat (no cooking, but snacks and ready to eat foods are OK), have a campfire, or just relax with a good book. During mosquito season, a screened in tent is set-up for guest use.
Camp McCarthy is in a beautiful setting. Camp is just two miles from the "end of the road" and the footbridge to McCarthy/Kennicott. Yes, you can drive to Camp! There is a parking space at each tent for one vehicle.

The Kennicott Mill building is an incredible 14-story structure. The historic tour is well-worth taking and highly recommended.
